ADEM APPOINTS JOHN HOGUE AS NEW STATE FIRE MARSHAL

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas Division of Emergency Management has appointed John Hogue as the next State Fire Marshal, bringing 32 years of specialized experience in fire, explosion, and hazardous materials investigations to the role. His extensive investigative background, statewide operational experience, and nationally recognized certifications make him uniquely qualified to lead Arkansas’s fire prevention and investigative efforts.

Hogue is a certified investigator of fire and explosions and a licensed private investigator. His career includes extensive service as a fire investigator, law enforcement officer, fire code inspector and plans reviewer, Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) technician, hazardous materials technician, fire captain/EMT, and a member of the bomb squad. Over the course of his career, he has conducted more than 1,500 fire and explosive investigations across the U.S.
He has completed numerous advanced seminars and continuing education programs in fire and explosive investigations and has taught courses for the Arkansas Fire Academy and local EMT associations.
He holds multiple nationally recognized certifications, including:
- Certified Fire Investigator – International Association of Arson Investigators
- Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator – National Association of Fire Investigators
- Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator – National Association of Fire Investigators
- Certified Evidence Collection Technician – International Association of Arson Investigators
- Fire Investigator Technician – International Association of Arson Investigators
- Certified Post Blast Technician – Federal Bureau of Investigation
Hogue will begin transitioning into the role immediately to ensure continuity of statewide fire prevention, investigation, and public safety operations.
